Well, I ended this year with a participant as willing as he was way back when I started this...



A whole year ago -

The project didn't come out exactly as I was hoping for -

A 365 Project - a Project in pictures...of ME and my kids in pictures.
Every day, a photo of me and a kid, or the kids...

Moms NEVER get in the pictures...
Regardless of how you feel about yourself in pictures - (I can't stand myself in pictures) - I think it is so important to get out from behind the camera and get in the pictures once in awhile.

While I was hoping for a shot a day - regardless of how brilliant or frumpy the picture might be, it just wasn't meant to be. I was off to a GREAT start - but soon realized that because I was snapping all of the pictures myself, they were all looking the same.
A shot of me and one kid, the camera held out at arms length, sometimes a willing kid, sometimes not...
And that...got old.
I didn't want to abandon the project all together though - and I managed to pull of 164 posts - not too shabby.
Not 365...but more than we had the year before to be sure...in fact, probably more than we had ALL the years before combined...
Do I love the pictures? Certainly not...but I love the idea of them...
And I love that maybe one day - my kids will look back on these photos and know that I existed...that I tried...

So...with that, I'm going to continue this project into 2011 -
Asking random strangers (or one of the kids) to snap a picture of me and the (other) kid -

Again, they won't be glamorous - but they will be...and to me...
that is the only thing that matters...

We had the opportunity to take the kids to Disney on Ice, Mickey & Minnie's Magical Journey...

Tried to get a family photo during the special meet & greet with Mickey & Minnie that we were lucky enough to be special guests at...but...The kids were a bit shy of Mickey & Minnie ~

WHAT?
I couldn't believe it...but, it is what it is...

You'd think that on a two day mini vacation - with so much togetherness & so many fun things to do -
I'd of been able to get a good shot or two...

But there was just too much other stuff to look at besides the camera! {likely excuse - seeing as how ALL of our pics look like this right? ;) }

Well, I guess tv stands are good for something other than just holding our television set these days...

Like offering us a great place for setting up the camera for the old Project Me. Project You. Timed Photos!

Although it did take a few snaps to get a shot ~

because something was missing from the first couple...


Bwahahahaha - Yep, 10 seconds is plenty of time for the 3 year old to get himself completely out of the picture!

Monster Jam!

We had the opportunity to take the kids to the Monster Jam Monster Truck Show at the Metrodome last night - We had a super fun time (despite a wintery, rocky start) ... even if no one was interested in getting a picture with Mommy -

One day, we'll look back on these and laugh!

We were on our own for five days without Daddy...
It was an intense, tiring, emotional five days...

on the final day - at 6:15 am before we left for our days at work/daycare...I set the timer on the ledge to snap a picture of the three of us...
A picture is worth a thousand words they say...
Wow, do I look tired!

Oh well, the premise of this blog isn't about being glamorous - it's about being...

And here we are...living life...

I cannot wait until our kitchen remodel is done, I can plop the kids up on a bar stool and yell 'SAY CHEESE!' ~

This sitting on the counter or leaning over the table isn't netting me the results I've been hoping for...
but...I'm getting results all the same...and there's something to be said for that no?

It's not that I'm not taking 1000's of pictures...
I've just fallen back into my old habits of TAKING the pictures and never being in them...

This is the best I could do with the length of my arms...
